National Taco Day – October 4th

Thursday is National Taco Day!

For some reason, my family goes bonkers when it’s taco night at our house. I think maybe it’s because they get the choice of what toppings to pile on and have that whole “hands-on” experience. Of course all those wonderful flavors of Mexico may have something to do with it too. I’m particular about our taco shells though. I don’t want trans fat (hydrogenated oil) or preservatives in them, so I have found two hard taco shells that I will purchase. When I make a trip to Whole Foods, I grab a few boxes of their 365 Organic Yellow Corn Shells.

If you don’t have a Whole Foods nearby, try the blue or yellow taco shells from Garden of Eatin’. You can sometimes find them at Publix or at any local health food store.

If you prefer soft tacos, I just received an email from Mambo Sprouts with a coupon for Rudi’s Gluten-free Soft Tortilla wraps. I haven’t tried them yet, but the other products from Rudi’s that we’ve tried have been well-liked.

Make your grocery list and head to the store tonight or tomorrow to stock up for your taco dinner Thursday night!
