I just finished prepping some things for dinner, and I used one of my most trusted and efficient kitchen tools – my mandoline. The mandoline is useful in quickly slicing fruits and veggies, grating cheeses, and making decorative cuts. Tonight we are having a cool zucchini, carrot, and radish salad (will post recipe tomorrow) that requires thin slices of each of these summertime vegetables. Rather than spending 15-20 minutes slicing with a knife, I was able to get everything cut within 5 minutes! Mine happenes to be a Pampered Chef item, but you can find them anywhere. Just remember to use the hand guard!

/ September 5, 2012I love, love, LOVE my mandoline! Mine came from Target, at around $12, and works awesome. I like to slice tomatoes and other veggies very thinly to add to sandwiches, so there’s a nice wide covering of veggies in every bite without the hassle of the chunks falling out when you eat it!
